Our History
Since 1923 until today, Quinta da Cholda has followed the evolution of Agriculture in Portugal, adapting itself to better fulfil its mission.

How It Started
Quinta da Cholda was bought in 1923 by João d'Assunção Coimbra, where he developed the agricultural, forestry, livestock and dairy business.
In the 1950s, a new generation took over the management of Quinta da Cholda, continuing to make improvements in the production process.
In the 1980s, the livestock and dairy business was replaced by large-scale maize production, with the 3rd generation in charge of the company.
In the 1990s, the 4th generation took over the leadership of the company and in the decade of 2010, a new life cycle of Quinta da Cholda begins. At that time, the company begins to adapt its activity and begins to produce its own energy from renewable solar sources, becoming energy-sustainable, thus starting a new business that joins the production of corn, cork, eucalyptus and pine-nuts.
In the meantime, from 2008, it introduced innovative principles of Digital Precision Agriculture, Sustainability and conservation of Biodiversity in all its production process.
